The 1950 Brinks Robbery & Murphy, Episode 205

The Brinks Robbery thieves took about $2.8 million dollars total, which is roughly equivalent to $37 million in today’s dollars. Only about $60,000 was ever recovered. It was called “the perfect crime” because of its meticulous planning, clean execution, and the long delay in solving it. Both Boston thugs, Anthony “Fats” Pino and Joseph “Big Joe” McGinnis are credited as the organizers and masterminds.
